What's new

Every change to the site, newest first: new games, improvements and bug fixes. Found something broken or have an idea? Tell us and it ends up on this list.

Changed

  • In the Diamond Heist Slot the blueprint is now wild, like in game: it stands in for any symbol to complete a cluster, and still starts free spins when three land. Payouts were re-balanced so the slot returns about the same as before.
  • Normal spins on the slot now roll like real reels and stop right on the symbols. Turbo is unchanged.
  • Turf Wars has a new arcade-cabinet menu with a live demo, side-by-side gang portraits, sixty-second rounds, bigger turf emblems and more fireworks when you take a block or a rival.
  • Your free daily card pack button now stays in your vault after you open it, with a countdown to the next one.
  • The Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas word searches are back for the season.

New

  • Race n' Chase, a retro arcade getaway racer in the spirit of the Race and Chase cabinets from GTA Online. Pick the coupe, the pickup or the sport bike, race through five districts from the beach to the pines before the clock runs out, and keep your speed up, because slowing down or crashing brings the cops. Five wanted stars and you are busted. Near misses build a combo and charge your nitro, and duffle bags on the road are worth grabbing. Your ride cruises the beach behind the menu while you pick it, Start puts you straight on the road, and Esc pauses with restart and quit. Thanks to the redditor who suggested it.
  • Turf Wars, a retro gang war for the city in the spirit of the Street Crimes cabinet from GTA Online. Pick one of four gangs, spray the streets your colour and surround blocks to take them, while three computer gangs paint over your claims. Guns, health, speed shoes and duffel bags of cash turn up on the street, traffic runs you over if you are not quick, and you get five lives for the minute. You run like Pac-Man, and the menu is an arcade cabinet playing a demo round. It pays five chips a point. Thanks to the redditor who suggested it.

Changed

  • Dong and Race n' Chase now pay chips: one chip for every point you score, straight into your vault (Turf Wars pays five). Your vault's stats now list them alongside the hacks.
  • Cards you have not pulled yet now show their art in your vault, behind a dark tint, so you can see exactly who you are still hunting for. Thanks to the redditor who suggested it.
  • Once you open your free daily pack, its button stays in your vault, dimmed, with a countdown to the next one, so you know you can just come back tomorrow.

New

  • Chips and your vault. Every NoPixel hack now pays chips by the grade you get (from 100 for a D up to 50K for an S+), the Diamond Heist Slot plays with those chips, and your vault keeps the balance on this device. Under 100 chips you can re-up to 100K for free, and at 1M chips card packs unlock (coming soon). Chips are play money with no value.
  • Your vault also shows your stats: total chips accumulated, every hack's runs, best grade and chips banked, and your Diamond Heist Slot numbers (spins, bonuses, wagered, won, net and your biggest win).
  • Card packs. At 1M chips you can rip a pack of 3 cards (and get 100K chips back) from your vault, from any NoPixel hack result or from the slot. Cards come in Base, Foil and Gold, and your vault keeps the collection. The first set was a placeholder while we sorted out the real card art.
  • The real NoPixel V player cards are in: all 467 of them, with art by the NoPixel artists, used with NoPixel's permission. Foil cards shimmer holographic, and Gold cards come in a glittering gold border. Your vault now lets you browse what you have, see what you are missing, search for a player and tap a card to see it up close.
  • A free card pack every day. Open it from your vault, after any NoPixel hack or from the slot. No chips needed, and a new one is waiting each day after midnight.
  • Card packs got a new look: shiny blue and purple foil wrappers with a 5.0 logo on the front, and the free daily pack buttons match.
  • Hacks are green and minigames are yellow: the Minigames heading on the NoPixel page and the vault's Spin the slot button are yellow, and Earn chips in the hacks is green.

Fixed

  • Sharing a big Diamond Heist Slot win now includes a link to the game, so friends can tap straight through and play.
  • See collection after opening a pack in your vault did nothing, because the pack stayed open on top. It now closes the pack and takes you to your cards.

Changed

  • Buying the Diamond Heist Slot bonus now plays a real spin first, guaranteed to land three blueprints, like the in-game slot. Anything else that spin hits carries into the bonus before the 15 free spins start, and the same goes for a bonus you trigger naturally.
  • Multiplier squares lit by the spin that triggers the bonus now stay lit for the free spins, 2x labels and all.
  • New symbol art for the Diamond Heist Slot, closer to the in-game slot: glossy 3D cash, gold bars, handgun, watch, a cash-stuffed duffle bag, mask, diamonds and the blueprint bonus symbol.
  • A new painted dusk skyline behind the Diamond Heist Slot, with the lowrider and the police car, whose lights still flash red and blue.

Changed

  • Diamond Heist Slot now plays closer to the in-game slot: the blueprint is the bonus symbol, so three blueprints anywhere on the board start the free spins. The payouts were rebalanced to match, so wins land about as often as before.
  • Diamond Heist Slot squares now light up as a 2x multiplier the first time a symbol explodes on them, with the 2x showing straight away, then double from there. Payouts were rebalanced again to match.

New

  • Key Matrix, a new NoPixel 5.0 hack: fill a 5×5 grid of symbols so every row and column holds each one exactly once, in fifty seconds. Clashes light up red, finished rows and columns sweep green, and a solved matrix lights up in a wave. The Hack Gauntlet now runs all fifteen hacks.

New

  • Key Derivation, the newest NoPixel 5.0 hack: crack a hidden four-letter key from ● and ○ clues, with eight attempts and forty seconds. Every guess drops into the history with its clue pegs, and a cracked key flips green slot by slot. It's in the Hack Gauntlet too.
  • GPS Manifest, another new NoPixel 5.0 hack: a sequence of letters and numbers shows for three seconds, then you type it back, five characters, then six, then seven. Each character lands green as you type, every verified echo stamps its split, and one wrong key loses the signal. The Hack Gauntlet now runs all fourteen hacks.
  • The Diamond Heist Slot, a free play-money slot in the style of the NoPixel casino: a 7×7 board of cluster wins, multiplier squares that double all the way to 2048x, and a 15 free spins bonus where the squares never reset. Play money only, $100,000 every visit.
  • The NoPixel hub is now split into Hacks and Minigames, and every card shows a preview of the game instead of an icon.

New

  • The N-Back Test: press when the square is where it was N steps back. Start at 1-back and climb as far as your working memory will take you.
  • The Stroop Test: name the ink colour, not the word, across 24 words. The result shows exactly how much the clashing words slow you down.
  • Start Lights, a new reflex test: five red lights come on, then all go out, and you react like a race start. Three starts, jump starts caught, and your grid position from Pole to Stalled.
  • A new guide: How to remember numbers. Five techniques, from grouping digits to the major system and the memory palace, with a two week practice plan to try on the Number Memory Test.
  • Rhythm Test, a new timing test: tap along to a beat, keep it going on your own when it fades, and see a chart of every tap showing whether you rushed ahead or dragged behind, plus the tempo you actually kept.
  • Keyline, another brand-new NoPixel 5.0 hack: press each falling key as it crosses the line, seven lanes, and any mistake sends you back to lane one. Every lock is rated Perfect, Great or Hit, and it's in the Hack Gauntlet, which now runs all twelve hacks.
  • Card Clash, a new daily game: two Pokémon cards, real market prices, pick the one worth more. Five rounds a day, closer every round, and it counts toward your daily streak.
  • A new result screen for every game: your score counts up and an arcade grade stamps in beside it (from D up to S+), the rest of the result rises into place, a new personal best gets a ribbon and confetti, and a goal line tells you exactly what the next grade takes. Press Enter to play again.
  • Intercept, the newest NoPixel 5.0 hack, the day it arrived on the server: catch the live key on a 3×3 grid before its one-second window closes. It's in the Hack Gauntlet too.
  • Icons across your stats dashboard. Every game and every domain now has its own, so the page is easier to scan.
  • This page, so you can see what changed and when.

Improved

  • The Vault Mini Game has been retired, and its old address now takes you to the Stroop Test. The Rhythm Test has moved into the Attention group, alongside Hidden Clock.
  • Benchmark tests are now grouped by what they measure: Reflex, Memory, Attention, Verbal and Spatial. My Bench follows the same groups, your domains use them too, and the NoPixel hacks have their own section you can fold away.
  • Results are tidier: sharing now sits behind one Share button, and the message, Post on X and Copy open in a pop-up only when you want them.
  • Sharing your score is now one step: every result shows the message it will post, with Post on X and Copy buttons (and your phone's share sheet). The message includes your score, the link straight to the game, and for the daily games your coloured grid. The separate challenge link is gone, and Daily Word has one share button instead of two.
  • Benchmento now opens in dark mode on your first visit, whatever your device is set to. Switch with the theme button and your choice is remembered, and if you pick light mode it no longer flashes dark for a moment as each page loads.
  • Hidden Clock: when you stop, the time rolls up to where you landed and a marker drops onto a timeline next to the 10.000 target, rated from Atomic to Drifted. Nothing on screen moves while the clock is hidden, so there's still no beat to count along to.
  • Dot Count: after each guess the dots come back and get counted up one by one to the real total, you're told whether you went over or under, and every guess is rated from Spot on to Way off. The cloud itself still flashes for exactly 650ms.
  • Color Match: when you lock in, the target colour appears as a circle inside yours so the difference is plain, your score counts down to its final value, and a rating stamps in, with confetti for a match too close to see.
  • Balance Point: a pin follows your cursor, and when you click the shape balances on it or tips toward its heavy side, further the more you missed. Every click is rated from Balanced to Toppled, and the five squares build your share grid as you play.
  • Typing Test: a live speed meter that rates you from Warming up to Inferno with a marker for your best, every correct word flashes, a clean-word streak that a typo breaks, and a Time! finish with your WPM counting up.
  • Number Memory, Sequence Memory and Visual Memory: the level you're on sits behind the game, every level you clear gets a banner, and scores past the typical person are called out as Above average, Elite and Savant. Number Memory reveals digit by digit and shows your answer against the real number, Sequence Memory shows the tile you should have pressed, and Visual Memory outlines the squares you missed.
  • The NoPixel hacks page and the NoPixel 5.0 guide now each have a clear job: the hacks page is where you play all 12, and the guide explains how to pass each one.
  • Chimp Test: numbers pop in, every correct tap bursts and draws a trail from the last, three lives show your strikes, and levels get called out, with Chimp level at 9 and Beyond chimp from 12.
  • Daily Word: letters pop in as you type, guesses flip tile by tile to reveal their colours, unknown words shake the row, and a solve bounces the row with a rating (Unreal, Brilliant, Sharp, Solid, Close call or Phew) and confetti.
  • Carrier Tune: static on the scope that fades as you tune in, a five-bar signal meter with Close and Hold, a flash and sparks on every lock with that signal's time, new signals that slide into shape, and an ending that either locks everything or dissolves into static. Every NoPixel hack now has the new feel.
  • Memory Diff: each difference you find lights up in both snapshots and shows what changed, wrong picks flash Match, a time bar turns red at the end, and a run with no wrong picks is Flawless.
  • Port Sweep: a scanline follows the wave down the grid, probes burst Open or flash Closed, every scan ends with its time (or Clean sweep with no wrong probes) and a warning that the next is faster, and the run ends with All ports swept.
  • Cipher Lock: tried words decode letter by letter with their matches flashing, a likeness meter shows each clue at a glance, the breach window turns red at the end, your last attempt is called out, and cracking it flips the password green.
  • Hex Lock: every lock is rated Perfect, Great or Locked by how close to centre you stopped it, perfect locks build a streak, seven padlocks snap shut as you go, the line glows as the target comes up to it, and a run ends with Access granted or Locked out.
  • Dong: every return lands with an impact and its points, diving saves get a Clutch, goals get confetti, the arena shows your ball multiplier and returns, your wall glows as balls close in, fast balls run hot, and losing ends with a Breach.
  • Traceroute: a packet travels every link you hop, your hop allowance drains as pips, your node warns you when an IDS node is next to it, and a finished trace lights up gold with a rating: Perfect route, Clean route or Got there.
  • Signal Path: tiles spin when you turn them, the signal visibly flows out along every connected pipe, a meter shows how many columns it has crossed, the clock turns amber then red, and every routed grid gets a flash and its own time.
  • ATM Lockpick: three lock pins that clunk into place as you clear each phase, sparks off the ring with every press, a live presses-per-second readout that warns you when you're slipping, and a proper Lock bypassed finish.
  • Card Clash shows yesterday's cards under the game: every pair, both prices and which one was worth more. They only appear once that day's puzzle has finished everywhere in the world, so nobody gets spoiled.
  • Aim Trainer: bullseye targets that shatter when you hit them, each target's time with a Flick! for the fast ones, a gold Bullseye for hitting the centre, a combo that a miss breaks, a trail showing your mouse path, a glow on the final five, and a Clear! finish.
  • Reaction Time Test: each attempt now slams in with a rating from Slow up to Lightning and a burst from where you clicked, five pips fill in as you go, New fastest is called out, and jumping the gun gets a Too soon stamp. The switch to green is still instant, so your times are exactly as accurate as before.
  • Spacebar Speed Test: a big spacebar on screen that presses down with you, plus the same heat gauge, sparks, milestones, personal best chase and finish as the click speed test.
  • Click Speed Test: a heat gauge that fills with your live speed and rates it from Warming up to Inferno, sparks on every click, milestone bursts, a marker for your best that flashes PB pace when you pass it, a pulsing final three seconds, and a proper finish with confetti when you set a new best.
  • Split Test feels like a game now: your cut flashes and throws sparks, the halves spring apart, each side counts up its share, and every cut gets a rating from Wild to Perfect (with confetti). The five squares above the shape build your share grid as you play, and sharp cuts in a row are called out as a streak.
  • Firewall Dodge: red firewall walls, a smaller green block that's a little more forgiving, and a payoff for every wave: sparks and a +1 for each dodge, close calls when you slip in at the last moment, a combo counter, a final five-second countdown, and a proper ending whether you breach it or get caught.
  • Signal Beat has a new look: colour-coded tracks, diamond notes and a hit zone, with a burst for a clean hit, an amber pop for a close one and a red flash when a note gets past you.
  • NoPixel hack results now keep the green terminal look instead of switching back to a white card.
  • After a hack, Try next suggests another hack and the Hack Gauntlet, instead of sending you off to the benchmark tests.
  • The NoPixel hacks guide has jump links to each hack and a button to practise each one.
  • Pages load faster. The stylesheet is about a third smaller.
  • Tidied up the writing across the site.

Fixed

  • Game cards showed many personal bests as a "Level" (an Aim Trainer best read "Level 548"). Every card now shows its best in the right unit: milliseconds, percent, seconds, digits, moves and so on.
  • Card Clash: removed a Today's daily and Practice switcher that linked to the Split Test by mistake. Every other game was checked and links only to its own modes.
  • The save and install prompts no longer sit over a game while you're playing it. They wait until your run is over.
  • Dong: after a run, Try again (or Enter) drops you straight back into the arena with no intro screen in between, and the ending is quicker.
  • Dong: letting a ball past you no longer ends the run while you still have others in play. You lose that ball and keep going, and the run ends when the last one gets through. Thanks to everyone on Reddit who asked for this.
  • Daily Word: solving the puzzle could stop before the result screen appeared, so winners never saw their share grid or guess distribution. The share text was also garbled. Both are fixed, and your streak was always being counted.
  • Hack Gauntlet: each hack's time now stops the instant it ends, so the celebration after it never counts against you. Gauntlet times are a little faster than before, because the short pause after every hack used to be included.
  • Port Sweep and Memory Diff: wrong picks now show as a dark red tile on the terminal instead of a pale pink one.
  • On phones, the top bar and the Sudoku number pad were slightly wider than the screen, so pages could slide sideways. Both now fit every phone size, and the number pad wraps onto two rows.
  • The Next button in Split Test, Balance Point, Color Match, Dot Count and the Vault could show before you had played the round.
  • After an update, a game could show with an old layout until you refreshed. Every update now loads fresh files straight away.
  • A stylesheet error left over from the retired card games.
  • Removed code from retired games that no page used any more.
  • The floating button covered the last link in the footer on desktop.

New

  • Hack Gauntlet: all ten NoPixel hacks back to back in a random order, one combined time, with a split for every hack.
  • Dong, the hospital arcade game. T-shaped paddles against an AI; score past it and it fires another ball back at you.

Improved

  • ATM Lockpick: the E key in the middle of the ring now presses down with every key press or tap.
  • Dong: smaller paddles, so rallies take real skill, and the site's normal colours.

Fixed

  • Firewall Dodge: the open lane in each row wasn't showing.
  • Signal Path: the corner pipes weren't drawing.
  • The score on hack result screens sat too close to the top of the card.

New

  • Traceroute: route through a 10×6 network around the red IDS nodes.
  • Cipher Lock: find the password among ten words using likeness clues.
  • Memory Diff, Signal Path, Port Sweep and Carrier Tune.
  • The NoPixel hacks now run on a green terminal screen.
  • Every NoPixel 5.0 hack explained: a guide to what each hack is and how to pass it.

Improved

  • Port Sweep: the scan now sweeps across the grid like a wave instead of flashing everything at once.

New

  • Today's workout on the homepage: three tests a day, tracked as a set.
  • Your stats dashboard now shows domain scores, trends and insights from your own runs.
  • Results can be compared with your own recent runs (vs you), not just with everyone else.

New

  • A NoPixel 5.0 section with the first four hacks: ATM Lockpick, Firewall Dodge, Signal Beat and Hex Lock. Each was tuned over several rounds of play-testing.

Changed

  • Bank Buster is retired, since NoPixel 5.0 replaced the hacks it was based on. Its old links now lead to the new section.

Improved

  • New link previews for the daily games and benchmark tests pages, so shared links look right.

New

  • Finishing any daily game now keeps your streak going, not only Daily Word.
  • Every daily result shows your streak and a countdown to the next puzzle.
  • Returning players can add Benchmento to their home screen.

Improved

  • Share is now the main button on daily results.

Fixed

  • Blank boxes where ads hadn't loaded yet no longer take up space on the page.

New

  • Word search now has 50 themes, from dinosaurs and pirates to every season and holiday.
  • A guide to why cutting a shape in half by eye is so hard, linked from Split Test.
  • A comparison page for people coming from other click speed tests.

Improved

  • Your stats page was redesigned: scores first, a small chart of recent runs for each test, and clearer sections.

Fixed

  • The stats page layout could collapse after loading.

Improved

  • New icons for every game, redrawn in one matching style.
  • Bank Buster: the mode buttons moved above the play area, Visual Memory started at 17 squares, and the vault gained 4, 5 and 6 card options.

Fixed

  • Spacebar Speed stopped responding to the spacebar after you clicked one of the time buttons above the game.
  • Number Memory started at 7 digits instead of 1.

New

  • Benchmento launched, with reaction time, click speed, aim, typing, spacebar and memory tests, puzzles like Sudoku, 2048, Minesweeper and Solitaire, and Daily Word.
  • Today's Bench and the Benchmento Performance Index (BPI), a single score across everything you play.
  • Split Test got a daily mode, one shared puzzle a day, after it was played live on xQc's stream.
  • New tests: Dot Count, Color Match, Balance Point, Hidden Clock, Drift Test and the Vault Mini Game.
  • Bank Buster, a set of GTA RP style challenges built on the memory tests.
  • Guides to good click speed and reaction times, the chimp test, and a comparison with Human Benchmark.

Changed

  • The card games (blackjack, baccarat and roulette) were taken down for now.
